After waiting for 2 1/2 hours in line, we were excited to finally get into the cool theatre. As you can imagine, summers in Texas, are H-O-T!
When she came out on stage in her green capri's and green cookie monster t-shirt and shinning diamonds, the crowd went absolutely crazy!!! I was up by the stage with the rest of the Official Forum Members. We were wearing our bright green Forum t-shirts. I sang along to every song from I'll Figure It Out to Here Today, Gone Tomorrow (2nd encour). She did a fantastic job and never missed a note!!! Between songs, she couldn't get a word in edgewise because we were screaming so loudly! When the crowd died down between songs, I got the nerve to yell "We Love Lisa!" and she responded "I love you too!" and looked directly at me!
The night didn't end after her concert. My best friend and I met up with other Forum members who won backstage passes and we went back into the auditorium after getting our cameras out of the car and waited for Lisa's bodyguard, Tyler, to come and get us. The moment finally came! He called us backstage and we got into a line and waited. Lisa's band was in a room nearby and we talked with Danny and Michael. I could see Lisa chatting with the girl who had gone before us. It was unreal that I was standing only a few inches away from her!!!
It was finally my turn! One of the security men, guided me over. Lisa greeted me with a "hi." and I greeted her with a hug, after I said hi back to her. She told me she liked the Idiot shirt I was wearing, which I had bought from the store in the lobby. I said thank you, and then I told her that I bought her a shirt as well. I had went to the mall earlier that day to buy her a present. I gave her the shirt that said "I can resist temptation unless it is given to me." She laughed at the shirt and told me she would defenitly wear that. She then asked to see the Fan Forum t-shirt and she told me that she really liked it, which I was happy about :) I asked her if I could get a picture with her and so her helper, Paige, took my camera and as Lisa and I posed with our arms around each other, I told her I was born on her dad's birthday. She replied with an, 'oh really?'. The camera didn't work. Paige, Lisa and I tried to get my camera working. The first thing Lisa asked was, "Is it on?" I couldn't help but laugh. We found out it was on the wrong setting and then Paige took our picture. (which turned out great by the way). I apologized for the camera not working, and Lisa replied 'it's ok.' I then told her that she did an awesome job and she replied 'oh well we didn't have our lead guitar player and it sounded really weird.' I of course didn't think so, and replied 'y'all didn't sound weird, you guys still sounded awesome." and she replied with a 'awww, thank you very much', which I couldn't help but think of Elvis when she said that. We said our goodbye's and she told me to follow the security man wholed me out to the back parking lot.
I stood in line for the meet&greet outside the tour bus after Lisa got done. I came up to her and we looked at each other in a 'i know you!' look and said hi to each other. I asked her if she could sign my fan forum t-shirt. I asked her if she saw the t-shirts and she said 'I sure did! They were defenitly bright!' I laughed and said 'we were hoping you would see us." and she said. "I defenitly did." I watched as she signed Love, Lisa Marie on my shirt. I told her, 'well the t-shirts worked then." she laughed and handed me my t-shirt. I told her 'thank you so much." and she said 'your welcome." We said our goodbye's and I stood on the side and watched as she met and greeted other excited fans.
It was an amazing night for me! I had been a Lisa Marie fan for several years now and it just surprised me how comfortable I felt around being her. She was down to earth, funny, and cared for her fans. It was a night I will NEVER forget!
